Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy explains what personal data Inkdiya Technologies (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Inkdiya at https://inkdiya.com, and when guests open an invite made with it, why we collect it, and what your rights are under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
What we collect from couples and hosts
The details you send us over WhatsApp or by email when you ask us to make an invite: the names, dates, venues, words, photos, music choices and family list, including each family's name and any personal note you want on its link.
Your contact details and our messages: your WhatsApp number or email address, and the messages and links we send each other in the chat. WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy; email goes through email providers.
Payment records: what you paid, the amount, the date and the payment reference. Payments are handled by Cashfree Payments. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
Messages you send us for support.
What we collect from guests
When a guest replies, we store what they type: their name, whether they are coming, how many people, and any message.
When a guest opens an invite, we record that it was opened, roughly what kind of device it was, and whether it was opened inside an app. To avoid counting the same person many times, we make a visitor code from their network address and browser details, mixed with a secret that changes daily. We do not store raw IP addresses, and the code cannot be turned back into one.
Guest pages do not load third-party advertising or analytics scripts.
Why we use it
To run your invite: show it to the right families, count replies and opens, and let you manage them.
To make your invite, take payments, send you previews, links and service messages (such as a reminder before data is deleted), and answer support questions.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.
To understand, in aggregate, how our own website are used, so we can improve it.
We use your data only for these purposes, and we ask for your consent where the law requires it. You may withdraw consent at any time (see your rights below).
Who sees what
Each family sees only its own name, note and the functions meant for it. A family's page never contains another family's details.
Guests' replies and opens are shown only to the couple who made the invite.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers below, and where the law requires us to.
Service providers who process data for us
We use trusted providers in these categories, who may handle data only to provide their service to us:
• payments: Cashfree Payments, which processes your payment and holds the payment details;
• cloud hosting for the website and invites;
• a database;
• file storage for photos and music;
• messaging and email services we talk to you through, such as WhatsApp (run by Meta) and email providers;
• product analytics for our website;
• error tracking, so we can find and fix faults.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside India. We choose providers that protect data to a good standard.
How long we keep it
We delete an invite and all of its families and replies 12 months after the last function. We message you about 30 days before.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below). We may keep payment and tax records for as long as the law requires.
Cookies
We use one first-party cookie on our website: to remember which version of the website you were shown (for up to 30 days).
We do not use cookies on guest invite pages to track guests across other sites. Our payment partner may set its own cookies on its own payment page when you pay.
Security
We protect data with access controls, encrypted connections and limits on who can reach what. No system is perfectly secure, so please share your invite links only with the people you mean to invite. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
• ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• ask us to correct or complete it;
• ask us to erase it;
• withdraw consent you have given;
• nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or cannot act;
• get your complaint heard by us, and, if you are not satisfied, make a complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected], message us on WhatsApp at +911234567890 or call +911234567890. We will reply within a reasonable time. You can ask us to delete your invite and data at any time. A guest who wants their reply removed can ask the couple, or write to us.
